CAIRO – 27 January 2025: Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi said that any talks about offering an ‘alternative homeland’ for Palestinians is rejected.

“We will not accept it and we will continue to confront it with all our capabilities,’ Safadi added according to al Qahera news channel.

Jordanian Foreign minister stressed that his country’s rejection of the displacement of Palestinians is ‘fixed stance that will not change’, confirming the need to achieve the stability and peace that we all want.

Safadi added that Jordan is continuing, to bring in the largest amount of aid to the Gaza Strip, stressing that his country is looking forward to working with the US administration to achieve peace in the region.

Thousands of displaced Palestinians started moving from central and southern Gaza to the northern Gaza Strip early Monday after 15 months of war.

This important step comes per the understandings reached by mediators in Egypt, Qatar and the United States on Sunday between Hamas and Israel, according to al Qahera news chanel.

The mediation efforts led by Egypt, Qatar and the United States succeeded in reaching a new understanding between Hamas and Israel, which stipulates that the movement will hand captive ‘Arbel Yehud’ and two other detainees before Friday.

Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari said, “An understanding has been reached that Hamas will hand over hostage Arbel Yehud and two hostages before Friday, and Hamas will hand over three additional hostages on Saturday according to the agreement, in addition to providing information on the number of hostages who will be released as part of the first phase of the agreement.”

“In return, the Israeli authorities will allow, starting Monday morning, the return of displaced citizens in the Gaza Strip from the south to the northern areas of the Strip, and will hand over a list of the names of 400 people who have been arrested since October 7, 2023 every Sunday in the first phase,” Al-Ansari added.

On Wednesday, January 15, an agreement has been approved to halt war in Gaza with Egyptian, American, and Qatari mediation, after nearly 15 months of suffering and violence that led to the killing of more than 46,707 Palestinian people.

Qatari Prime minister Mohamed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani announced in a press conference that the joint efforts between Egypt, Qatar and the United States of America contributed to the success of the discussions and negotiations.

The deal came into force on Sunday January 19, as three Israeli female prisoners were released, and other 90 Palestinian prisoners followed them after nearly 7 hours of waiting.

Also on Saturday 25 January, four Israeli soldier prisoners were released, in exchange of 200 Palestinian prisoners.

The four released soldiers were Karina Arif, Danielle Gilboa, Naama Levy, and Liri Elbag, according to the list published by Hamas, Friday.

The female soldiers appeared in military uniform and in good health alongside Hamas members on a platform set up in the square.
