First group of Syrians departs Egypt via Nuweiba seaport

CAIRO - 29 December 2024: The Red Sea Ports Authority announced the departure of the first group of Syrians to their country via Nuweiba seaport on Sunday. 

The 40 Syrians’ journey back home on board the ferry "Ayla" comes as part of coordination between Egypt and Jordan, whereby a Jordanian Jet Company transported them via buses from their places of residence in Cairo to the port. 

The Red Sea Ports Authority said the ferry will transport them to the Jordanian port of Aqaba and then transport them to the Jaber crossing between the Jordanian and Syrian sides.
