Egypt’s electric train operates on Friday for New Administrative Capital Marathon

CAIRO – 26 December 2024: The newly-constructed electric train will begin its trips on Friday from Adly Mansour station to the new Administrative Capital on Friday only, coinciding with a marathon organized by the Ministry of Sports at the new capital.

The French company “Régie autonome des transports parisiens (RATP)” announced that the train trips will start on Friday at 5 a.m. with a train leaving every 10 minutes until 1 p.m. to facilitate the movement for the marathon participants.

The Egyptian Ministry of Sports, in cooperation with the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Zayed Charity Race, and the New Capital Administrative Company, announced that a marathon is due to take place on Friday at 8 a.m. in the new Egyptian capital.

The marathon, this year, offers a total prize of EGP 20 million, in addition to a draw for 200 Umrah (Small Pilgrimage) trips, making it a unique sporting and humanitarian event.

The ministry has invited all sports enthusiasts of various ages to participate in the marathon, which serves as a bridge to strengthen relations between Egypt and the UAE, in addition to its role in promoting health awareness and encouraging physical activity.
