CAIRO - 12 December 2024: Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Health and Population, and Head of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Health Ministers, held a meeting Thursday with Dr. Saleh Mahdi Mutalib Al-Hasnawi, Iraqi Minister of Health, and Dr. Fares Al-Hawari, Jordanian Minister of Health, to discuss ways of joint cooperation in the health sector between Egypt, Iraq, and Jordan, as part of the activities of the second day of the 61st session of the Council of Arab Health Ministers held in Iraq.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar praised the depth and interconnectedness of the historical relations that bring together Egypt, Iraq, and Jordan in various fields, most notably the fruitful cooperation in the health sector.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, said that the meeting discussed proposals for cooperation in the field of preventive medicine.
He added that cooperation is especially in the exchange of expertise in the field of monitoring infectious and emerging diseases, identifying the implemented surveillance programs, and cooperation in the field of monitoring the Corona virus, within the early warning system to confront epidemics, and exchanging expertise in the field of monitoring acute respiratory diseases, and how to monitor influenza activity.
