Colder weather to prevail in Egypt starting Monday

CAIRO - 22 November 2024: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expected  a temperature decrease of 3 to 4 degrees in most areas nationwide, accompanied by strong winds that will intensify the feeling of cold. 

It is expected that the maritime navigation in the Mediterranean Sea will be disrupted due to the unstable weather, EMA added.

Additionally, scattered rain showers of varying intensity are forecasted to begin in the northern regions of the country starting Sunday.

Meanwhile, Head of the Climate Information Center at the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Mohamed Ali Fahim stated that starting Monday, November 25, a cold, humid northern air mass will dominate, leading to a significant and sudden drop in temperatures, especially during the day.

Fahim added that, for the first time, nighttime temperatures are expected to drop to 12-13°C, creating a cold winter atmosphere. Meanwhile, hot weather will persist during the day in southern Upper Egypt, contributing to increased temperature fluctuations.
