Egypt to launch 1st education center for children with special needs, disabilities

CAIRO - 16 November 2024: The first comprehensive educational center in Egypt dedicated to children with special educational needs and disabilities will be established soon. 
 
This center, under the "Educational Life Path" initiative, will be launched by the Administrative Capital Company in cooperation with a company based in Britain with the aim of generalizing this model in various governorates.  
 
Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity Dr. Maya Morsi received Saturday Eng. Khaled Mahmoud Abbas, Chairman and Managing Director of the Administrative Capital Company, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, in the presence of Eng. Margaret Saroufim, Deputy Minister of Social Solidarity, Ayman Abdel Mawgoud, Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity for Civil Society Institutions Affairs, and in the presence of leaders of the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
 
The meeting discussed ways of cooperation between the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the Administrative Capital Company, within the framework of the "Educational Life Path" initiative. 
 
Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, confirmed that this cooperation comes within the framework of coordination and integration between the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the Administrative Capital Company to support efforts to promote and protect the rights of persons with disabilities, integrate them into society, provide a supportive environment, and grant them equal opportunities that enable them to participate effectively alongside the rest of the community.
 
The meeting reviewed the mechanisms of cooperation to establish an integrated rehabilitation center according to the latest standards to qualify and prepare educational cadres to deal with persons with disabilities to be a unique model in this regard, while reviewing the mechanisms of work to provide training, human and technical support to the center within the framework of the efforts of the Ministry of Social Solidarity to serve the issues of persons with disabilities.
