CAIRO - 8 October 2024: Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdel Aati and Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi said their Tuesday talks in Cairo reflected the convergence of visions between their countries.
They reviewed the efforts and contacts made by Egypt and Jordan to show solidarity with the Lebanese people, urging adherence to Security Council Resolution 1701 regarding Lebanon.
They also underscored that the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank must be stopped, condemning the Israeli obstruction of humanitarian aid flowing into Gaza.
They rejected all Israeli policies that aim to impose a new fait accompli on the Palestinians, which forces them to flee their occupied lands, leading to the liquidation of the Palestinian cause at the expense of neighboring countries.
The liquidation of the Palestinian cause is a “red line” for both Egypt and Jordan, the top diplomats said.
Abdel Aati highlighted the murder of more than 41,000 Palestinians, most of whom were women and children, with thousands more under the rubble, the displacement of hundreds of thousands, and the destruction of most of the infrastructure due to the Israeli war machine that includes starvation and complete siege imposed on the people of Gaza.
