Gaza under Israeli aggression - file
CAIRO - 18 September 2024: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Badr Abdel Aati reviewed the developments related to the war in Gaza, and stressed that stopping the Israeli aggression is a priority that all international efforts must combine to implement.
Minister Abdel Aati further reviewed the Egyptian efforts to reach a ceasefire, and full and unconditional access to humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
These remarks were made during a phone call, Egyptian FM received Wednesday from the European Parliament Member "Antonio Lopez".
Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Dr. Badr Abdel Aati also expressed his appreciation for the position of the European Parliament Member and his support for Egypt amid growing regional disputes.
Ambassador Tamim Khalaf, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, stated that Minister Badr Abdel Aati further expressed his appreciation for the EP's understanding of the challenges Egypt is facing related to the increasing conflicts and disputes in the region and their economic and security impacts.
Abdel Aati stressed that common challenges require coordination and joint work between Egypt and the European Union.
He also expressed Egypt's aspiration for the European Parliament Member and the European People's Party Group to continue supporting Egypt within the corridors of the European Parliament towards implementing the Egyptian-European partnership, especially during the period of discussions on the European funding package for Egypt.
The official spokesman added that Minister Dr. Abdel-Aati reviewed the unprecedented development witnessed in relations with the European Union after upgrading them to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership.
He stressed that Egypt aims through this partnership to deepen all aspects of cooperation between the two sides, which was reflected in the holding of the Egyptian-European Investment Conference last June, in addition to the existing successes in cooperation in the field of combating illegal immigration and terrorism, and other areas of various sectoral cooperation.
