CAIRO- 19 July 2024: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdel-Aty headed, on Friday morning, to Accra, the capital of Ghana.
The Minister travelled with the Egyptian delegation that will be headed by the Prime Minister, to participate in the sixth coordination meeting of the African Union and the regional economic groupings at the summit level (the 6th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting.)
The summit this year is scheduled to address the state of regional integration, and follow up on the coordination of the policies of the African Union and the regional economic blocs to enhance the ability to integrate and integrate, said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid.
The official spokesman revealed that Minister Abdel-Aty is scheduled to hold a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the visit. He will meet with the Chairman of the African Union Commission, the Commissioner for Peace and Security, the Executive Secretary of the Peer Review Mechanism and the Executive Director of NEPAD, in addition to other meetings with a number of African foreign ministers.
The Foreign Minister's meetings aim to consult and coordinate on the process of joint African action, evaluate the progress achieved in continental and regional integration, and follow up on the file of bilateral relations between Egypt and African countries.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs will also participate in some specialized events organized by the African Union Commission on the sidelines of the summit.
He will also meet with a number of African businessmen and investors to present the investment opportunities available in Egypt and encourage the African business community for economic and trade cooperation with their counterparts in Egypt.
