CAIRO – 23 July 2017: A total of 25 water projects were accomplished in the Upper Egypt governorate of Qena aiming to provide villages with clean water, Qena Governor General Abd El-Hameed El-Haggan stated.
The government has allocated LE 741.8 million ($415.2 million) for water projects, LE 1.9 billion for waste water treatment projects and 24.3 million for paving 27 km of roads, according to Haggan.
Concerning housing, 5 villages of the Egyptian Desert Hinterland Plan in five cities of Qena, which cost LE 152 million, were constructed. In addition, 11 projects are running at a cost of LE 283 million, and LE 329,5 million for constructing 2,544 housing units, El Haggan added.
