4,199 prisoners freed in presidential pardon for Eid al-Adha

CAIRO – 16 June 2024: In a spirit of compassion and goodwill, the Community Protection Sector has released 4,199 prisoners from reform and rehabilitation centers across the country in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 214 of 2024. The released inmates meet the pardon conditions set forth in honor of the blessed Eid al-Adha.

This act of clemency reflects the Egyptian government's commitment to upholding the values of justice, mercy, and rehabilitation.

The release of these individuals provides them with an opportunity to reintegrate into society and become productive members of their communities.
