President Sisi meets Rwanda’s President Kagame in Jordan

CAIRO – 11 June 2024: President Abdel Fattah al Sisi met with President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame, on the sidelines of International Conference on the Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza, which is held in Jordan.

Spokesman for the Presidency, Counselor Dr. Ahmed Fahmy, said President El-Sisi and Rwanda’s President lauded the outstanding level of the two countries’ bilateral relations across an array of areas, which demonstrates their shared interest to further advance and solidify their strategic cooperation, notably in supporting Rwanda’s development needs.

 This is in addition to strengthening economic, trade, security and military cooperation as well as enhancing consultations and exchanges of view between the two sides, within the framework of the African Union and as part of efforts to bolster joint African action.a

President El-Sisi expressed gratitude to the President of Rwanda for attending the conference. The two Presidents reviewed developments in the Palestinian issue as well as Africa’s positions in this regard. These positions shall contribute to advancing international efforts to achieve just and comprehensive peace in the region based on the two-state solution, enhance intensive endeavors to reach a ceasefire and an exchange of hostages and detainees, and ensure the flow of humanitarian aid and relief into the sector to end the humanitarian catastrophe endured by the people of Gaza over the past months.
