Egyptian, Jordanian Transport ministers talk boosting joint cooperation

CAIRO - 9 May 2024: Egyptian Minister of Transport Kamel Al-Wazir received his Jordanian counterpart, Transport Minister Wissam Al-Tahtamouni, the Jordanian Minister of Transport to discuss strengthening joint cooperation between the two sides in various fields of transport.

 

During the meeting, which took place at the Ministry of Transport headquarters in the government district of the New Administrative Capital, the Egyptian Minister stressed the depth of relations between the political leadership, the two governments and the two friendly peoples.

 

He further praised the joint cooperation between the two sides in the transport sector, including the Arab Bridge Navigation Company owned by Egypt, Jordan and Iraq, which embodies the fruitful cooperation between the three countries.

 

The two sides then reviewed the latest developments in the rates of transporting goods and trucks via the Arab Line for Land and Sea Transport, which plays great importance in transporting goods and trade from the Gulf, Iraq and Jordan to European and American countries, passing through Egypt, and transporting European countries’ exports to Iraq and the Gulf countries, passing through Egypt and Jordan.

 

It was also emphasized, during the meeting, that measures were taken from both sides to ensure the smooth flow of commercial movement and inter-transport.

 

The two sides also discussed the desire of the brotherly Jordanian side to cooperate in the field of training a number of technical cadres working in the Jordanian Hijazi Railway Corporation at the Wardan Railway Institute, which was welcomed by the Egyptian Minister of Transport, who directed the ministry officials to take all necessary measures to facilitate the training of Jordanian cadres at the institute, which is one of the most important training and educational institutes in the field of railways.
