Egyptian president, Jordanian PM discuss efforts to achieve truce in Gaza

CAIRO – 9 May 2024: President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi received Thursday Jordanian Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh who is in a visit to Cairo to co-chair with his Egyptian counterpart the 32nd session of the Supreme Joint Committee.

In addition to bilateral relations, the meeting tackled the critical conditions in Gaza Strip, and the strenuous efforts deployed to accomplish a comprehensive truce and exchange of captives.

The two sides also stressed the necessity of the sufficient supply of humanitarian aid, and warned of the disastrous repercussions of the Israeli military operation in Palestinian Rafah on the humanitarian status of the enclave.

 

They equally urged that the international community must push for the two-state solution that entails the establishment of a Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967 having as capital Eastern Jerusalem which would ensure regional stability.
