CAIRO – 23 February 2024: A positive atmosphere prevails the Paris meetings regarding an agreement on the exchange of Palestinian prisoners and Israeli detainees, sources told Al Qahera News on Friday.

The talks in Paris are being held with the participation of delegations from Egypt, Qatar, and the United States.

The meetings convened one day after a delegation of the Palestinian Movement Hamas, led by Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the movement's political bureau, concluded its visit to Egypt, which lasted several days, according to a press statement issued by the Hamas leader's office.

The movement's delegation held several high-level meetings to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip, putting an end to the Israeli brutal aggression against the Palestinian people, the return of displaced persons to their homes, relief and shelter, especially in the northern Gaza Strip, and ways to achieve these demands.

As for the issue of prisoner exchange, the delegation also addressed it, as well as the Israeli occupation's plans regarding Al-Aqsa Mosque in light of the Israeli government's decision to prevent the Palestinians in the West Bank and the occupied territories from praying in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan.

Israel has killed 29,514 Palestinians and injured 69,616 others in the Gaza Strip since October 7th, 2023 in the Gaza Strip, announced the Palestinian Ministry of Health on Friday.

The Ministry of Health also reported that the Israeli occupation forces committed 10 massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, resulting in 104 martyrs and 160 wounded in the past 24 hours.
