Egypt demands Israel to fulfill its duties as occupying state, refrain from attacking hospitals

CAIRO – 16 November 2023: "Egypt condemns the Israeli shelling of the Jordanian field hospital in Gaza, causing injuries among civilians and medics, and that adds to the series of Israeli attacks that violate international law," a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wednesday says.

The ministry considered the Israeli targeting of hospitals and civilian buildings in Gaza Strip a grave violation of humanitarian international law, demanding international parties to play a role in ending those violations and holding perpetrators accountable.

The statement also demanded Israel to fulfill its duties as an occupying state and refrain from attacking hospitals and impeding the work of medics.

The vicinity of the Jordanian field hospital in Gaza was struck Wednesday, which incurred seven medics who were providing medical care to injured Palestinians at the ER department, as reported by Jordan News Agency (Petra).
