Egypt welcomes Saudi Arabia, Oman efforts to support a sustainable solution to Yemen crisis

CAIRO – 21 September 2023: Egypt has welcomed the efforts exerted by Saudi Arabia and Oman in working out a sustainable solution to the Yemeni crisis as Saudi Arabia hosted a round of talks with a Yemeni delegation in a bid to crystallize such efforts.

In a statement released by the Foreign Ministry on Thursday, Egypt renewed its affirmation to all efforts aimed at ending the Yemeni crisis and reaching out a sustainable solution based on the terms of reference included in the Gulf initiative and the mechanisms of its implementation, the outcome of the Yemeni national dialogue, in addition to the UN Resolution No.2216.

The statement also reiterated the firm Egyptian stance calling for supporting a political process comprising all the Yemeni parties in order to maintain unity, stability and sovereignty of the Yemeni territories
