CAIRO – 13 August 2023: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Abu arrived, on Sunday, in Egypt’s El-Alamein city, to participate in an Egyptian-Palestinian-Jordanian tripartite summit on Monday, said official of the media office in the Mobilization and Organization Commission of the Fatah movement, Munir al-Jaghoub, in a statement.
The summit will convene upon President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s request. Jordan's King Abdullah II will participate in the summit.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is accompanied by Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization Hussein Al-Sheikh; Head of the General Intelligence Service (GIS) Maj. Gen. Majed Faraj; and Palestinian Foreign Minister and Diplomatic Adviser to Palestinian President Majdi Khalidi.
The three leaders will discuss the political, regional and international issues, and the efforts taken to put an end to the suffering of the Palestinian people and achieve their legitimate national rights to establish their independent and fully sovereign state with Jerusalem as its capital, said Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt Diab Al-Louh in a statement on Saturday.
The Palestinian ambassador expressed his thanks to Egypt and the president for hosting this summit to support the cause of the Palestinian people.
