CAIRO – 10 June 2023: During an inspection visit to the Egyptian Military Academy at dawn on Saturday, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said that the country seeks to mitigate the impacts of the economic crisis on citizens.
“The reforms implemented by the state have helped the economy to be resilient despite the great impacts of the global economic crisis,” he said.
He praised the academy, saying that is playing an important role in preparing and qualifying many state’s workers.
“We seek to enhance the capabilities of youth who join the various state agencies,” the President added.
On his bicycle, the President went to the Egyptian Military Academy at dawn, shortly after his return from an African tour that included Angola, Zambia and Mozambique.
“The aim of the recent African tour is to strengthen work with our African brothers,” he added in his speech to the academy students.
The President's tour included participation in the COMESA Summit in Lusaka, where Egypt handed over the presidency of the COMESA to Zambia after two years of a successful presidency.
Egypt’s presidency resulted in a tangible improvement in the performance of the COMESA in terms of indices of intra-trade exchange and exports, industrial integration, and financial and administrative reform, said Egyptian Presidential Spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy in a statement.
