CAIRO – 5 June 2023: Mauritanian President Mohamed Weld Al Ghazwany expressed on Monday his appreciation to Egypt and the Arab League for organizing the permanent representatives meeting.
During his speech before, he praised the achievements made by the Arab League in supporting joint Arab action and developing its mechanisms, looking forward to more work and effort in this regard.
He added that the world, in light of the overlapping of economic and security necessities, is imposing the formula of political and economic blocs, which requires strengthening joint Arab action to confront security, economic and political challenges.
The upcoming Arab Economic and Social Development summit will take place in Mauritania, in November, said Arab League (AL) Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit on Monday.
During a meeting with visiting Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Ghazouan - at the premises of the AL general secretariat - Abul Gheit discussed the developments and situation in the Arab region as well ways of promoting the joint Arab action.
The Mauritanian president, meanwhile, held talks with the Arab League council at the level of permanent representatives.
