CAIRO - 6 January 2023: The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) announced Thursday that the world's largest floating book fair "Logos Hope" started to receive visitors willing to get acquainted with its collection of international books.
The ship is open for visitors from January 5 till January 23.
A statement issued by SCZONE said Logos Hope Director General Edward David held a press conference in which he expressed happiness over the ship's presence in Egypt especially the coastal city of Port Said, noting that the ship carries a message of peace to the whole world with the aim of delivering knowledge, help and hope to its international visitors.
A Korean folklore group made a show on board the ship upon its operation which attracted local and international media.
Logos Hope operates with a volunteer crew of 400 people with over 60 nationalities, including engineers, electricians, teachers, sailors, nurses and cooks, reflecting the Book fair’s objective in spreading culture diversity and global solidarity.
The ship docked at Port Said on January 4 and will stay till January 23. It is the second time for the ship to visit Port Said as it has been there back in 2010.
Logos Hope goes on several trips around the globe and remains in each port for two weeks to attract and host numerous readers and explorers, from 10 AM to 10 PM throughout the week, excluding Friday, where it starts at 3 PM.
