CAIRO – 5 December 2022: Egypt recorded the lowest rates of the COVID-19 infections as many isolation hospitals registered zero infection, said Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the spokesman for the Ministry of Health, in comments to “Mr. Citizen” talk show on Al-Hadath T.V.

He added that there are no indications of an increase in the infection.

The coronavirus pandemic situation in Egypt is fully under control as the country has been recording very few cases over the past period, Presidential Advisor for Health Affairs Awad Tag El-Din said on 8 October 2022.

In TV remarks to Al-Hadath Al-Youm, Tag El-Din said the coronavirus cases in Egypt show mild symptoms that are similar to the symptoms of common cold.

The coronavirus still exists worldwide, Tag El-Din warned, noting that the world, however, is able to live with the pandemic by continuing vaccinating people.

Amid a drop in COVID-19 cases, Egypt has eased numerous domestic coronavirus-related restrictions imposed since March 2020. The country also lifted in June the coronavirus entry restrictions for all travelers.
