CAIRO – 26 August 2022: Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Ishtayeh hailed Egypt’s role and continues efforts to support the Palestinian cause in the international events, reported the Palestinian news agency (WAFA).
Ishtayeh also hailed Egypt’s role in finalizing the Palestinian reconciliation as he met in Ramallah with outgoing Egyptian Ambassador Tarek Tayel on Thursday.
The Palestinian prime minister praised Tayel’s role in enhancing the bilateral relations between the two countries, wishing him success in his professional and personal life.
The meeting comes less than a month after Egypt brokered in early August ceasefire between Israel and the Islamic Jihad, ending the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza, which killed over 40 Palestinians, including children, in few days.
After the ceasefire entered into effect on 7 August, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas welcomed tremendous efforts made by Egypt that led to stopping the Israeli aggression against Gaza Strip.
According to WAFA news agency, Abbas hailed President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's ongoing stances that support the Palestinians.
He noted that these efforts contribute to easing the tensions and relieving the suffering of the Palestinian people.
