CAIRO – 8 July 2022: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has exchanged congratulations with the leaders of the Arab countries on Eid Al-Adha occasion.
In this regard, El-Sisi held phone calls with Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, UAE’s President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, and Emir of Tabuk region Prince Fahd bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The president also spoke via phone with Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, Iraq’s Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, and Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
Egypt and other Arab countries are preparing to celebrate Eid Al-Adha starting Saturday.
The Adha honors the day when Prophet Ibrahim -peace be upon him- was ordered to sacrifice his son, Ismael, and because of his obedience, God substituted Ismael with a ram, and this day has become a feast for Muslims since that day.
Eid Al-Adha is the most significant feast for Muslims worldwide, as it marks the end of the Hajj (pilgrimage) to the holy city of Mecca.
In Egypt, the public and private sector will have the period from July 9-14 as paid holiday on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha as per decisions by the government.
