CAIRO – 2 July 2022: Travelers departing through the Egypt-Gaza Rafah border crossing are not required to obtain a COVID-19 certificate, the Palestinian General Authority for Crossing and Borders said in a statement on Saturday.

On June 17, 2022, Egypt removed all coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions that were imposed on the entry of Egyptian and foreign arrivals to the country, said Egyptian Cabinet Spokesperson Nader Saad in a statement on Thursday.

The decision was taken during a meeting between Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly and the members of the Supreme Committee for the Management of the Epidemiology and Health Pandemic Crisis on Thursday.

In early April, the Cabinet announced easing coronavirus restrictions in mosques during the holy month, including lifting a two-year ban on Ramadan charity banquets known as “Mawaid Al-Rahman” where poor people gather in streets around huge tables of cooked food.
