CAIRO - 11 January 2022: The Chairman of the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics Gad El Kady stated on Tuesday that the National Network for Earthquakes registered a 6.6 tremor in eastern Mediterranean that was felt in some Egyptian cities.
He added, in a statement, that the epicenter of the tremor was 415 km from Damietta. It took place at around 3:00 a.m. in the morning Cairo local time.
There were no reports on any damage or casualties thus far, according to El-Kady.
