CAIRO - 7 January 2022: The World Youth Forum (WYF) administration announced that unprecedented techniques in detection of the new mutant "Omicron" would be used at the forum due to convene on January 10-13 in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm el Sheikh, in light of adopting new precaution and prevention measures against the Covid-19 virus.
The unprecedented technologies include robots that sterilize the halls and measure the temperatures of the participants and distribute sterilization tools to the attendees, the administration added.
Add to this a robot would be used to distribute food and drinks to the attendees. Also, the forum administration installed self-sterilization gates at the entrance to prevent any possible transmission of infection.
The WYF administration has also taken all precautionary and preventive measures in cooperation with state agencies and specialized private sector companies to ensure the safety of all participants.
The administration has launched its interactive platform to facilitate remote participation in the forum’s fourth edition.
The move comes as part of the forum’s keenness to provide an opportunity for all those who cannot attend to take part in the event, which is organized under the auspices and with the attendance of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
According to a statement by the WYF on Thursday, the newly-launched digital platform helps create an interactive atmosphere among all participants.
It also enables all those interested in the forum to follow up on its activities, and participate in the workshops that will be set up as part of its activities.
The platform further has information about the forum, its agenda and participating speakers, the statement said, noting that individuals can also participate virtually in the forum only via registering their emails.
