CAIRO – 10 November 2021: Egypt's Health Ministry said 921 new coronavirus cases were detected on Tuesday, upping the total number of infections since the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country to 339,335.
In a statement, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 56 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 19,186.
As many as 619 patients were discharged from hospitals after receiving medical care, taking the number of recoveries to 284,366, the spokesman added.
Egypt has started its vaccination campaign in January this year, during which around 25 million citizens have been vaccinated against the novel virus.
The country has received all types of vaccines worldwide, the latest of which was Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson.
Minister of Higher Education and Acting Health Minister Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar told a Cabinet meeting late in October that the country has received 72 million coronavirus vaccine doses and is expected to receive 26 million others soon.
The country has also allowed the vaccination of children who are above 15 years of age to receive the vaccine.
