Egypt records 948 new coronavirus cases, 57 deaths

CAIRO - 31 October 2021: The Ministry of Health announced late Saturday that 948 new coronavirus cases were registered, raising the total number of cases to 330,084.
 

In a statement, Health Ministry Spokesman Khaled Megahed said 57 coronavirus-linked deaths were recorded over the past 24 hours, taking the nationwide death toll to 18,592.


 
As many as 390 cases were discharged from hospitals after receiving the necessary medical care, pushing the total number of recoveries to 277,623, the spokesman added.
 
Minister of Higher EducationKhaled Abdel Ghaffar, who was assigned to be acting Health Minister announced that Egypt had received the first shipment of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, with a total of 784,280 doses, on Sunday morning.
 
The shipment was given by Canada through COVAX, in cooperation with the International Vaccine Alliance (GAVI).
