CAIRO – 20 October 2021: Hurghada International Airport received Wednesday the first Austrian Airlines flight since halting flights due to Coronavirus pandemic.
This resumption of the Austrian Airlines flights comes in similarity to several foreign airlines' decisions on resuming its flights to Egypt’s tourist cities after stopping due to the Corona pandemic.
Hurghada International Airport authorities received the flight passengers with flowers, and ensured that the all passengers on board came with a negative PCR test as requested.
All precautionary measures have been taken according to the authorities to guarantee safety for all passengers and airport employees.
Per the government decisions, no travelers are allowed into the country without a recent negative PCR.
This decision applies to Egyptians and foreigners coming from all countries abroad, with the exception of children under 6 years old of all nationalities.
Also, those coming directly to Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, Marsa Alam and Taba airports can only take a PCR test upon their arrival at the airport if they did not bring the PCR certificate with them.
