Egypt reports 837 new infections, 37 deaths on Sunday

CAIRO - 10 October 2021: The Health Ministry said Sunday night that 837 new coronavirus cases were detected, upping the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak in the country began to 312,413.


In a statement, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 37 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 17,695.

As many as 903 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 263,557 so far, the spokesman said.

“Egyptian vaccination certificates are now recognized in the UK for those wishing to travel from Egypt,” announced the British Ambassador to Egypt Gareth Bayley on Friday.
 
In a message on Twitter, Bayley said the UK is welcoming travelers from Egypt after it was removed from the UK red list, adding that the kingdom has recognized Egyptian vaccination certificates of those who fully-vaccinated travelers.
 
Starting from Monday, the 11th of October, the traveler will no longer have to be self-isolated or in quarantine, he said, adding that no PRC tests are required anymore before leaving Egypt.
 
The travelers should be vaccinated with (AztraZenca, Modern, Pfizer, or Johnson) fourteen days before their arrivals in the UK, he continued.
