CAIRO - 19 August 2021: The Libyan Ministry of Health received the sixth shipment of liquid oxygen supplies from Egypt, announced the ministry on its Facebook page on Thursday.

The shipment contains 180,000 liters. It comes in response to an emergency situation of the coronavirus pandemic, and to meet the increased demand for medical oxygen gas in isolation centers.

The isolation centers in the western and southern regions witnessed a severe shortage of oxygen supplies. So, the Libyan government agreed with Egypt in April 2021 to import liquid oxygen shipments.

The aid has been provided by the Egyptian Ministry of the population to Libya to ease Libyan citizens' plight against the coronavirus pandemic, the statement added.

On April 14, 2021, two Egyptian military jets carrying tons of medical aid were sent to Libya's Sabha Airport southern the neighboring state.

Egypt has sent, Wednesday a military transport plane loaded with medical and humanitarian supplies to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
