CAIRO - 13 August 2021: The Health Ministry said that 95 new coronavirus cases were detected, upping the total number of confirmed cases since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country to 285,061.
 
In a statement on Tuesday, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said seven patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 16,604.
 
As many as 212 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 233,729 so far, the spokesman said.
 
A new shipment of anti-Coronavirus AstraZeneca vaccine is scheduled to arrive at the Cairo International Airport on Friday evening, announced the Ministry of Health and Population announced on Thursday in a statement.
 
The new shipment will be analyzed and then distributed to the vaccination centers nationwide, the statement said. The AstraZeneca vaccine is injected in two doses, with a 12-week interval, the statement added.
 
Three days ago, a shipment of 525,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine arrived, Egypt from the Romanian government to Egypt.
 
On August 9, 2021, the Cairo international airport received the first patch of Johnson & Johnson Vaccine against coronavirus.
