Egypt’s FM calls upon Israeli counterpart to cease Israeli attacks on Palestinian territories

CAIRO – 13 May 2021: In a way to deescalate the clashes between the Palestinians and the Israeli, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry conducted on Wednesday with his Israeli counterpart Gabi Ashkenazi.
 
Shoukry stressed the need to cease the Israeli attacks on the Palestinian territories, and the importance of working to spare the peoples of the region further escalation and resorting to military means, said the Egyptian Foreign Ministry in a statement.
 
The Egyptian Minister affirmed Egypt's keenness on the region’s stability based on settling issues by diplomatic means via negotiations, and that the recent developments confirm the need to resume Palestinian-Israeli peace efforts as soon as possible and with no delay.
 
“Three days of Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip left 43 Palestinians dead, including 13 children and three women, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in an update on the casualties,” MENA reported.
 
The Israeli aggression also resulted in the injury of 442 others, said the Egyptian embassy in Cairo in a statement.
