Belarus amb., supply minister discuss food security cooperation

CAIRO - 5 July 2017: Ambassador of Belarus in Cairo Sergei Rachkov met Wednesday with Minister of Supply Ali Al Meselhy to discuss his country's contribution to supporting food security in Egypt.

Rachkov said in a statement to MENA that he discussed ways of providing Egypt with food supplies and participating in the national project for the cultivation of 1.5 million feddans.

He explained that both sides tackled the prospects of establishing agricultural communities and complexes for the production of milk, meat, grain and vegetables, through benefiting from Belarus' expertise and agricultural equipment.

In addition, he pointed out that it was agreed to continue discussing the prospects of implementing joint projects for food production during the upcoming visit of Belarus' first deputy minister of agriculture to Cairo in mid-July.
