Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi makes an inspection tour of construction projects in Cairo – Presidency
CAIRO – 30 April 2021: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi made an inspection tour of some of development construction projects that included newly-built highways, car market, besides projects of irrigation canal lining, on Friday, said the Presidency in a statement.
President Sisi inspected the Middle Ring Road, which connects cities that locate east Cairo to the west.
The road is 156 km in length, with 16 traffic lanes (8 lanes in each direction), making it the widest highway of road networks in the Middle East region to ease the traffic jam, the presidency added.
The president, during the weekly tour, inspected the new location of the car market on Cairo-Sokhna road. This serves as an alternative of the well-known Nasr City car market which was not well structured, lacked basic services and caused traffic jam.
The new car complex has been established on an area of around 57 feddans and can accommodate 4,000 cars.
It includes yards for used and new cars and inspection and maintenance centers as well as restrooms and cafes.
It will also have a real estate registration office and units for police, traffic, ambulance and fire fighting as well as banks to facilitate transactions between traders and customers.
