Egypt’s Minister of International Cooperation Rania El-Mashat and Assistant Secretary General for UN Global Compact (UNCG) Sanda Ojiambo have discussed mechanisms of joint cooperation to support climate work.
The Egyptian initiative includes holding five major regional roundtables.
During the meeting, Shoukry will review Egypt's vision of various aspects of international climate action and what should be focused on, Hafez said.
“Egypt is keen, during its presidency of the [COP 27] conference, to build on the successes of the Glasgow Climate Conference,” said Fouad in a statement issued by the Ministry.
El-Mashat highlighted the value of the development financing agreements signed with the WBG in 2020, which amounts to $1.5 billion.
