Egypt Visit
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres arrived in Cairo on Thursday to hold talks with the political leadership.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Egypt on Saturday, where he is set to meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Extra News TV channel reported.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Egypt and India are moving forward quickly to achieve the goal of boosting their trade exchange to $12 billion within five years, the Egyptian Cabinet said in a statement.
Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli received Modi, who is making the visit to Egypt as per the invitation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, at Cairo International Airport.
Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will visit Egypt on Saturday as part of a trip to the Middle East and Africa, Japanese Ambassador to Cairo Oka Hiroshi has told state’s news agency MENA.
Blinken’s visit to Egypt will be on 29-30 January, where he will meet with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and other senior officials, including Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
