According to Squawka, the first incident witnessed Suarez bite PSV player Otman Bakkal in a match that ended in a 0-0 draw between Ajax and PSV. The second incident was against Chelsea defender Branslav Ivanovic. The match that occurred in 2013 ended in a 2-2 draw between Liverpool on Chelsea. The third and last occasion came in the 2014 World Cup against Chiellini the Italian defender.

According to the Guardian, Suarez was banned four months on the club level, and was banned for 9 competitive international matches with Uruguay then he received a 66,000 sterling fine.

Barcelona’s striker Luis Suarez said in his book ”Luis Suarez Crossing the Line” that the match’s atmosphere and hype are the main reasons behind this action. He states that he has no ability to control his reactions.
