CAIRO – 20 June 2017: Saudi Arabian club El Taawon entered into negotiations last Wednesday with Wadi Degla to sign Egyptian national team goalkeeper Essam El Hadry.

According to Saudi news agency Al Ain, El Taawon has been in negotiations with Wadi Degla and El Hadry for a transfer that is expected to be funded by El Sheikh Al Turky.

El Taawon finished in 7th place in Jameel’s Professional Saudi League last season.

El Hadry told MBC Sports on Tuesday that he was “willing to consider any offer from Saudi Arabia.”

“If there is an offer that suites me, I could end my career with Saudi,” he said.

Despite his old age, 44-year-old El Hadry participated in the 2017 African Cup of Nations as Egypt’s first goalkeeper. He managed to maintain a clean sheet in four consecutive matches in the competition, held in Gabon.
