Zamalek lose to Espeqrance, advance to the semi-finals

CAIRO-7 March 2020: The White Knights booked the first ticket to the CAF Champions League semi-finals after they won the quarter-finals tie against Esperance 3_2 on aggregate.

Zamalek lost the second leg 1_0 in Tunisia which wasn't enough for the home team to advance to the semis as Zamalek won the first leg 3_1 in Cairo.

Esperance scored the only goal in the game after five minutes through Billel Bensaha from the penalty spot but Zamalek experienced players dominated the game after the goal.

The Tunisian team failed to create chances against the solid defense from Zamalek players and the game ended 1_0 for the Egyptian side.

"We played with much courage against the defending champions and we deserved to win the tie and quality to the semi-finals." Zamalek manager, Patrice Carteron said after the game.

Zamalek will face the winner between Raja Casablanca and TP Mazembe.
