Messi reveals Eto’o’s advice that shaped his career

CAIRO – 26 December 2019: Barcelona star, Lionel Messi, sheds lights on his first steps as a professional footballer with the Catalan giants, Barcelona, and the support he received from the big names at the squad like Samuel Eto’o.

"I remember many times Eto'o told me, the day you start scoring goals, you're going to be easier. Until one day everything opened up, then they went in and all started going in." Messi told La Liga.

Messi became a specialist in free kicks which became one of his best skills and he secured many points for Barcelona through free kicks.

Messi continued "Yes, in the last few years I began to look and see if the goalkeeper moves before I hit the ball. if he takes a step or not, how the wall is placed. I study it more now. And I started improving the way I hit the ball during training."
