CAIRO –14 June 2017: Thirty-two-year-old British driver Lewis Hamilton won the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Sunday, June 11.

Hamilton finished the 70 laps of the race in first place in 1:33:05.154, collecting 25 points. This victory added new record for Hamilton, winning the Canadian Grand Prix for the third time in a row. He is also now the driver with the second most victories in Montreal, behind German Michael Schumacher, who has won seven times. Hamilton also had the fastest lap at this year’s event at 1:14.551 with an average speed 210.588mph.

The victory in Montreal brings Hamilton into second place in the 2017 Formula 1 season with 129 points. Sebastian Vettel, finishing in fourth place in the Canadian Grand Prix, leads the season with 141 points.

The first Canadian Grand Prix took place in Montreal in 1967 and the current track, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, is 2.7 miles long.
