CAIRO – 13 June 2017: The legendary Italian goalkeeper Buffon had some interesting remarks following his 4-1 defeat with Juventus in the Champions League final against Real Madrid on June 3.

Buffon gave his opinion to Rai Sport after the defeat saying, “there was too much optimism going into a game where even the stupidest Real Madrid player had many more trophies and appearances in big finals than me.”

Moreover, he continued by talking about the Italian’s (Napoli,) who were happy about Real Madrid’s victory. He said, “I am honestly proud to be nothing like those who celebrated after the Final in Cardiff. In football there are victories and defeats. I remain convinced that you learn much more from a loss than a success, so this is why I struggle to accept the attitude of those who automatically cheer against Juventus.”

Buffon will have one last shot at the Champions League trophy next season before he announces his retirement from football.
