CAIRO – 3 April 2019: Al-Ahly assistant coach, Mohamed Youssef, showed his admiration to Al-Ahly Tunisian left back, Ali Maaloul, who scored the team’s first goal at the game against Al-Ittihad which ended with a 2-0 victory for the Red Devils on Tuesday night at the Egyptian League.

“I want to thank Maaloul for his efforts with the team. He is a professional player and he provides a great performance every game. He played two games with his national team during the international break and then returned to Egypt to play against Zamalek and Al-Ittihad.” Youssef said.

At the first minute of the added time, Maaloul opened the score for his team by a left-footed shot from the edge of the box to score Al-Ahly's first goal in the game.

Three minutes later, Saleh Gomaa added the second goal for his team after a wonderful assist from Ramadan Sobhy who dribbled three players from Al Ittihad.

Al-Ahly’s victory sent the team to the top of the table for the first time this season and they are one point ahead of Zamalek who faces Smouha on Wednesday night at Petro Sport Stadium.
