CAIRO – 4 November 2018: Saudi Arabia made history by beating South Korea in the final match of the 2018 AFC U19 Championship in Indonesia.

The Green Falcons beat the most successful team in the history of the competition 2-1 to topple the Asian giants to lift their third title.

Turki Al-Ammar took the lead for the Saudis in the second minute before Khaled Al-Ghannam doubled the score in the 22nd minute.

Saudi Arabia last title was at UAE in 1992. They succeeded to beat the Asian giants who achieved the title 12 times before.

Saudi Arabia was the runner-up in 2016 at Bahrain.

With their big-match credentials in doubt, Saudi Arabia stepped up and delivered a performance well worth the trophy.

26 years later, the AFC U19 trophy is once again back with the Green Falcons.

Four teams successfully qualified for the 2019 World Cup U21 at Poland; Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Qatar and Japan.
