CAIRO – 19 June 2018: Russia national team manager, Stanislav Cherchesov, believes in his team's ability to continue their amazing run in the tournament and defeat Egypt at their second game of the World Cup.

“I trust my team. I believe in my players; we’re preparing ourselves and we’re training according to a plan. We have done everything we planned to do,” the Russian manager told press at the pre-game press conference.

The Russian team achieved a stunning 5-0 victory over Saudi Arabia at the opening game of the World Cup. Russian winger, Denis Cheryshev, scored twice at the game to secure his team’s victory.

Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, is ready for the game against Russia after he missed Egypt’s opening game against Uruguay that Egypt lost 1-0.

Cherchesov revealed that Salah is very important to Egypt but he believes they have to stop all the Egyptian players to win.

“Every team has players that you need to pay special attention to. Egypt is a balanced team and, of course, Mo Salah is the strongest one in the team. But we aren’t playing against one player; we have to take into consideration all the players,” the manager said.

Russia needs to defeat Egypt to secure their qualification to the second round, while the Egyptian team needs to defeat Russia to keep their chances to reach the second round.
