CAIRO – 1 December 2017: Pep Guardiola, Manchester City`s coach, faced Nathan Redmond, Southampton midfielder, at the end of the match against Southampton. It happened after the final whistle. Raheem Sterling secured City’s 13th win in the league with a miraculous goal, and the Spanish coach celebrated the victory like never before.

When the players were already heading to the locker room, Guardiola seemed to have a heated argument with midfielder Nathan Redmond. However, Guardiola clarified during the press conference that they were just words.

"I told Redmond that he is a good player; last season he destroyed us with his style, but this time he could not attack us because his team was always in a defensive position, they wasted a lot of time during the game," Guardiola explained at the press conference.

"I also spoke with Oriol, with Van Dijk and with my players," said Guardiola and added, "I apologized to the referee for the way I celebrated the last goal, but I could not control myself."

This season, Pep Guardiola and his team Manchester City, did not only climb up to the top of the Premier League table but also broke many records. Manchester City has 40 points out of a possible 42 after 14 rounds, making their season so far the best since the establishment of the Premier League 25 years ago.
