CAIRO – 14 November 2017: Atletico Madrid has been in contact with Arsenal's Mesut Ozil to join them in the summer, The Sun newspaper reported.

Ozil's contract with Arsenal ends this season and it is not yet clear whether he will stay or leave the team.

Atletico Madrid has already been in talks with Ozil to persuade him to move on to the summer, offering him a salary of £200,000 a week in addition to a separate sum for the initial signing.

Atletico's offer is much lower than that requested by Ozil's agents from Arsenal, which is £330,000 a week.

Ozil played in La Liga with Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013 before moving to Arsenal.
Previously, Ozil made a bid in a request to change his number in Arsenal and renew his contract with the club, according to The Sun.
