CAIRO – 7 November 2017: Hector Cuper, Egyptian national team coach, has decided to stay in Russia for three days after the 2018 World Cup draw to check the Russian stadium that will host World Cup matches.

Ehab Lehita, Egyptian national team director, stated that Cuper will not leave Russia after the draw scheduled on December 2.

He said to the Saa`a Kora radio program, “Cuper wants to check Russian stadiums, along with training pitches, to take all possible precautions.”

Lehita confirmed that the Egyptian delegation will visit Russia again in Febraury to settle on the preparations for the World Cup.

He assured that FIFA has sent a list of the available hotels that will host the Egyptian delegation during the World Cup, but he preferred to wait and reserve the suitable hotel after the World Cup draw.

The Egyptian national team has qualified to the 2018 World Cup when they defeated Congo 2-1 on October 8 at Borg El Arab Stadium. This will be the first time for the team to play in the World Cup in 28 years.
